On September 11, 2001, we lost a loving husband and father, Jeff Mladenik, in the American Airlines Flight 11 disaster at the World Trade Center. Jeff was traveling on business for E-Logic, a division of Cahner’s Publishing, where Jeff was serving as interim President. Jeff was also the Pastor of Workplace Ministries at Christ Church in Oak Brook, Illinois.

We will remember him first as a devoted father and husband, but we know that he would like to be remembered as a Christian who walked his faith every day and in every way. Jeff’s prayer was that as a church, community, and nation we would be more prayerful and conscious of God’s provident hand in all circumstances.

Jeff was born on June 21, 1958, and grew up in Lyons Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sue (Stovicek) Mladenik and 4 children: Kelly , Josh, Dan, and Grace; his parents: Richard and Kathleen Mladenik; brothers, Scott and Kim Mladenik and Mike and Barb Mladenik; father and mother in-law: George and Violette (deceased) Stovicek; brothers in law: Steve Stovicek and Scott Stovicek.

He was ordained as a minister in 1999 by the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. He was degreed by Morton College (1979, Assoc. Business Management), North Central College (1992, Master of Business Administration), Trinity College (1987, Bachelor of Arts), and Wheaton College (1995, Master of Arts).

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
They will say of the Lord,
